The Assam Police on Tuesday stopped about 5,000 Congress workers trying to enter Guwahati to continue the Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra. Following this, a clash broke out between the police and the Congress party workers escalating tensions in the state.
The Assam Police is currently on the spot to prevent the Congress rally from hitting the Guwahati roads. The development came after the Congress party alleged that the Himanta Biswa Sarma government was creating roadblocks in the yatra.
